Located in Manhattan’s midtown district, between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, on a 25x100 ft lot, stands the Gotham Hotel. Originally planned as a residential condo, the 20-story hotel occupies 34,000 sq. ft. and reaches a height of 250 ft. Housing 67 rooms, the hotel features a layout of 4 rooms per floor on the lower levels, transitioning to 2 or 3 rooms per floor on the upper levels. The building’s façade is characterized by two distinct levels: the lower level harmonizes with neighboring structures, reflecting the city streetscape, while the upper level, adorned with balconies on each floor, creates a sense of soaring height. Formerly the site of the renowned “Gotham Bookstore” at 16 E. 46th Street, the hotel pays homage to its literary legacy through its name, the Gotham Hotel.
